Basketball Rivalries

Basketball Rivalries

Rivalries in the NBA are what make the NBA so interesting. Usually, when rival teams play against each other, the games are a lot more exciting to watch. Back in the old days you would see a fight break out once in a while but now a days there is no more action like that. Instead players take it out on each other on social media. But that is not the point of this blog. The crowd gets more into the game and it is a lot more competitive, for rival teams hate losing to each other. Some of the biggest rivalries I can think of were are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat, etc. Take in note that some of these rivalries were from a decade ago. Not only were there team rivalries, but there was also plenty of rivalries between players. One of the biggest rivalries was the Kobe Bryant and Shaq rivalry. Although they hated each other, they were one of the most successful duos of all time. Without rivalries, basketball would not be the same.

1995-96 Chicago Bulls

1995-96 Chicago Bulls

The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls were possibly one of the best teams to ever play in the NBA. They had a record of seventy-two wins and ten loses. That is the best record that any team has ever had. The Bulls had one of the best basketball players of all time, Michael Jordan, on their team. They also had one of the best coaches of all time, Phil Jackson. On top of all that, they had amazing players like Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper, and many more. They were truly an unstoppable force. They had players who can do everything they needed, and a mastermind coach that led the Chicago Bulls to their six championships. The bulls sometimes went through a whole month not losing a single game. They were the only team in the NBA to reach over seventy wins. Although, the Golden State Warriors are about to reach that record as well. The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls were a team that will be remembered in basketball history for a while.

March Madness

March Madness

March Madness is one of the biggest college basketball tournaments in the NCAA. About sixty-eight teams enter March Madness and it is single elimination. The best college teams and players will be found in this tournament. It is a huge deal to sports fans. The games are very exciting to watch as well. This year, there has been so many game winners and exciting games that I would rather watch March Madness instead of NBA games. The sixty-eight teams are broken up into 4 brackets where if they lose, they are out the tournament. Many upsets occur in March Madness. An upset is where an underdog team beats one of the best teams in the tournament. A team that has found a lot of success in March Madness is UCLA with eleven championships. Ten of those championships were won with coach John Wooden. If you do not keep up with March Madness, I really suggest you check it out before it is over.
